Numerical modeling of hydraulic fracturing in tight gas reservoirs

In China, in order to ensure energy security, the development of tight gas and shale gas is running at full speed. For the planning of hydraulic fracturing technology, advance calculations are required. Therefore, TU Clausthal, Sichuan University and Energy Research Center of Lower Saxony are jointly developing a numerical simulator FLAC3Dplus, which can model the thermal, hydraulic and mechanical (THM) processes in hydraulic fracturing.
